Full List of "Asia's Top 50 Restaurants 2024" Revealed: SÉZANNE Claims Top Spot, with Japanese Restaurants Making Significant Mark

The awards ceremony for the 12th edition of the restaurant ranking "Asia's Best 50 Restaurants" 2024 version was held in Seoul, South Korea on March 26, 2024. Japan took the top two positions and further demonstrated its dominance by securing four out of the top ten spots. Japan showed a remarkable performance in this event.

It was the first time for South Korea to host the event. Korean restaurants also performed admirably.

The awards ceremony for "Asia's Best 50 Restaurants" in 2024 was held in Seoul, South Korea. The event took place at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, where not only food enthusiasts from Asia but also from around the world gathered. They praised and celebrated the restaurants and chefs that caught their attention.

Japanese restaurants dominated the top spots, with Sézanne, led by Mr. Daniel, claiming first place. Following closely, Florilège secured second place, both taken by Japanese establishments. Furthermore, the regulars, Den, ranked 8th, and La Cime claimed the 9th position, resulting in four Japanese restaurants entering the top 10.

Led by Daniel Calvert, Sézanne, which clinched the first place, is situated on the 7th floor of the Tokyo Four Seasons Hotel Marunouchi. It made its debut in the "Asia's Best 50 Restaurants" in 2022 at 17th place, climbed to 15th place last year, and finally claimed the prestigious title of "The Best Restaurant in Asia" for this year, securing the honorable No. 1 position within the Asian region.

The second place was secured by Mr. Hiroyasu Kawate's restaurant, Florilège.

From Tokyo, four more restaurants made it into the ranking. Florilège, which was chosen as second place, offers a blend of French and Japanese cuisine filled with Chef Hiroyasu Kawate's originality. Den, a regular on the list, claimed the 8th position, Narisawa secured the 14th place, and Chazenka earned the 39th spot.

From four cities other than Tokyo in Japan, one restaurant each made it onto the list. La Cime from Osaka claimed the 9th position, followed by Villa Aida from Wakayama at 35th place. Making its debut, Goh from Fukuoka secured the 45th position, while Cenci from Kyoto was chosen for the 47th place.

Mrs. Mineko Kato of Faro in Tokyo has won the "Best Pastry Chef in Asia" award. Trained in Italy, Ms. Kato holds the belief that through food, it is possible to create a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

Other notable topics include:

• By country, Singapore leads with the highest number of restaurants in the top 50, with a total of 9 establishments.

• Making its debut at 31st place, Seroja won the "Top New Entry Restaurant Award."

• Wing from Hong Kong, climbing 32 ranks since last year to secure the 5th position, received the "Highest Climber Award."

• Nusara from Bangkok, ranked 6th, won the "Art of Hospitality Award" for this year.

• Haoma from Bangkok at 90th place received the "Sustainable Restaurant Award."

• Kevin Lu from Logy in Taipei (ranked 22nd) won the "Best Sommelier in Asia" award.

• Sung Anh from Mosu in Seoul (ranked 41st) received the "Chef's Choice Award" based on votes from fellow chefs.
